It seems like forever ago that Nashville was devastated by the spring rains of 2009. The area has been hard pressed to recouperate, and many landmarks for Music City have been out of commission – and those that are now open were out of commission for some time.
However, Country Music still resonates in the city, and it’s not as if Nashville has become the new post-Katrina New Orleans. Quite the contrary! Nashville is now getting a first-of-its kind water and snow park, which will open up in an area that was once devasted by flood waters.
Gaylord Company owns the Opryland Hotel, which is a luxury hotel within walking distance to the Grand Ole Opry. Sitting adjacent to the water park will be, as early as 2014, a new water and snow park.
The good news is that it will bring approximately 45o jobs to Nashville, and will cater to approximately 500,000 visitors in its inaugural year. This will only add to Nashville’s robust tourism industry, and help the city weather tough economic times.
Those who want to go visit Nashville with their family, but aren’t fans of snow and water can hit the OpryMills mall, an upscale outlet facility. In addition, families can visit a variety of locations, and take in all this fine city has to offer.
