The 2010 Samsung Galaxy S Android 2.2 smartphone is an amazing Android. The Samsung Galaxy S is approaching iPhone 4
sales figures, selling a reported 1 million handsets in 45 days. This is a sales figure that sounds more reminiscent of an Apple handset than a Droid, but shows you that competition in the smartphone industry is set to get just a little tighter.
On a side note, Apple is still more popular, selling 1.7 million iPhone 4 handsets in just a few days. However, the million unit mark isn’t one that should be taken lightly. Initially, Apple competed more with RIM than any other manufacturer. RIM’s sexiness is starting to fade, and now the Android smartphones offer the largest competition for the Cupertino, California based company.
Tomorrow, the Samsung Epic 4G will be released on the Sprint network, and will go head-to-head with the HTC Evo 4g. Given the sales figures on the Galaxy S, Samsung appears to be doing things right.
Samsung also has a tablet computer from the Galaxy line. Click here for more details on the Galaxy tablet, which is the Android answer to the Apple iPad.

Are you kidding? 1.5 million in 4 days compared to 1 million in 45 days? They probably have already sold 8-10 million of those iPhone 4s.

@Kyle> Don’t be a bias. I’ve been using iPhone for 6 yrs. I had iPhone4 for 3 weeks, then I ditched it because I test out Galaxy S. It is sadly far more superior hardware…and sadly again Android2.1 and 2.1 is exceeding iOS4 YES, Apple has FANBOYs and GIRLs who use device passionately and it is #4 in the series, it should and to be expected to sell 1.5 mil or more in 45 days!!! Just like the kids in line waiting for STARWARS movie release. Give it a break! this is by far the best number smart phone ever come close to iPhone.
