HTC Droid Incredible Android 2.2 Froyo updates are being pushed out via Verizon over the air. The handset is actually arguably
the best handset on the market across all varieties of phones, and adding the 2.2 Froyo update further adds to the experience of using this “Incredible” (for lack of better words) phone.
After the Froyo 2.2 Anroid update, HTC Droid Incredible users will have a snappier browser speed, 10.1 flash support, 720p video recording, and the ability to use their handset as a mobile wi-fi hot spot.
I’m really excited about that last feature. It’s killing my budget to have a cell phone AND an aircard for mobile use – not to mention having to keep up with the aircard and making sure I don’t lose it.
Now, not everyone has gotten the update yet. There is a way to manually update your HTC Droid Incredible, and the instructions here. We have had reader comments that the update went beautifully, but then others said that their phones locked up. If you choose to manually update, do so cautiously and back up all your photos and files first!
Have you gotten the HTC Droid Incredible Android 2.2 update? If so, is it great?

I just downloaded it and installed it via OTA and it went smoothly. According to http://www.android.com we were to have fixed icons for the browser (which I really wanted), phone, and app launcher.
All in all, it looks and feels the same with some new apps in the app menu. Photos icon has been changed to Gallery (pointless imo); Added News and Weather icon; added Amazon MP3 (i dont use Amazon so I dont need it); Added mobile 3G hotspot (kind of cool, but cost extra through verizon); changed quick office logo; added VZ Navigator Icon (i use the Google Nav which is free and just as good and you still have to $9.99 a month for VZNav)
All in all, nothing new really, maybe a little extra speed but I havent noticed anything.
