Motorla Droid X’s Android 2.2 update is something many are hoping will become available during September. Android 2.2 Froyo
is perhaps THE upgrade that will bring lots of excitement to Android handsets. After it is installed, users are able to do many things. For instance, they can turn their cell into a mobile hotspot, hooking up other wi-fi enabled devices.
This means no need to purchase an air card. That’s a definite perk – and something many people will use to their advantage.
In addition, the update allows for 720p video recording, a snappier browser speed and something that will make every Apple iPhone user envious … Flash 10.1 support.

There are rumors of a leaked Droid X Android 2.2 update that you can read about here. However I would strongly advise against using any update of anything that was not provided directly from Google or the phone manufacturer.
So far, there’s no exact date on when the update will become available, but many are pointing to a September availability.

People who own the Incredible already got the update, But us who own a DROID X….NO UPDATE and I have been waiting for this update since the end of last month. Motorola and Verizon better get it together. Droid X has had plenty time to distribute the promised update. Empty promises sounds like a maketting motto to me. This type advertisement is not what verizon needs but it is fixing to happen. People are tire of waiting for nothing but empty promises. update already.
