Samsung’s Epic 4g is a big hit, according to recent reports surfacing from Sprint. Right now, Sprint is the only network offering 4g service. Up until recently, the HTC Evo was the only 4g capable phone on the market, but now the Epic 4g is taking over the reigns and Sprint says its one of the best sellers.
The Epic is in the Samsung Galaxy S lineup, and is the only one such handset that includes a physical QWERTY keyboard.
A Sprint representative is quoted as saying “With its beautiful Super AMOLED touch-screen, full QWERTY keyboard and two cameras, Samsung Epic 4G is a terrific smartphone that delivers the promise of the Sprint 4G network. As we continue to build out our 4G network, more and more of our customers will realize the benefits of these amazing devices and the realities of life at these blazing-fast speeds.”
The Galaxy’s line has one of the best displays on the market. The AMOLED display is some of the industry’s best, and if you are looking for a Droid it’s definitely one line to consider.
Has the Epic 4g killed the Evo 4g? There’s no indication that that is the case, and I think it’s great to offer more than one handset for a given market. Given that Sprint is the only network with 4g and there are only 2 phones, there’s plenty of room for both phones in the lineup.

The phone is in par with the cost of smartphones, ringing in at $250 with a 2 year contract from Sprint.
