A Verizon iPhone and a White iPhone 4 would make lovely Christmas gifts, but we aren’t certain if either will become available
on time. I figure that Apple is trying to work out the entire “antennagate” issue before releasing the White iPhone 4, after all – who wants to release something and have to pretty much hand out $30 along with it?
In addition, the Verizon handset won’t become available until the company is able to get away from their exclusivity deal with AT&T. Given that Verizon has a vast array of Android phones and AT&T’s Android offerings are quite a bit skimpier, one has to wonder if Apple is going to stick with AT&T or if they are going to try to get some customers away from Android via Verizon.
Still yet, customers are going to all but demand both devices. If you don’t want to use AT&T as your carrier but still want the functionality of the iPhone you can purchase the new iPod Touch. Details released last week indicate that the device is FaceTime capable, meaning that if you are around a wifi connection then you can use the device to video conference with someone.
So will a Verizon iPhone and a White iPhone be available for Christmas? Don’t count on it – at least not for the Verizon iPhone. However, if Apple can successfully work out some production issues with their white handset that could be likely.

Lets be real, what are the odds that Apple will release an iPhone with Verizon this Christmas? Every month we keep hearing about “undisclosed sources with Apple” keep stating a Verizon iPhone is going to happen any day now. Sure and I really believe most Verizon users won’t drop their Droid in heartbeat when the iPhone does become avaiable on Verizon. I’ll wager for a June 2011 or most likely Jun 2012 Verizon realse date when LTE is up. One more side note to add, if the Droid X and Evo are so great whey isn’t anyone crying about it not being available on their network and being locked down to Verizon and Sprint?? Sounds like a double standard to me….
