iPod Touch 4th Generation Brings Big Changes

The iPod Touch 4th generation brings big changes to the popular iPod.  Pretty much an iPhone minus the phone, the iPod Touch has become a handheld multimedia giant.  The big changes that have been unveiled with the new iPod Touch fourth generation include front and rear cameras, a retina display, and more.

The front and rear cameras allow for video conferencing via FaceTime, making some wonder if shelling out the monthly fee for an iPhone is even worth it any more.  If you are somewhere that has a wifi connection, you can take calls. There’s even a vibrating alert that you have one coming in!

That being said, I am a little shocked that FaceTime works with the Touch. I would have thought they would have left this feature off, as like I said before- it sort of infringes on the territory of a phone.  Still yet, I will trade in my second generation iPod Touch for this one – if for nothing other than using the device to talk to friends and family.

If I could change one thing about the iPod touch 4th generation, it would be the body.  I would make it like the iPhone because I really like the feel of it. I would at least take the mirrored finish off the back and replace it with the brushed metal used in the MacBook line of laptops. Why? The smudgy finger prints left behind drive me absolutely insane.

What do you think of the new iPod Touch? Is it something you can see yourself enjoying, or will choose another device?

The shiny metal backplate is there for a purpose — Apple makes millions on the third party cases that are sold. The extremely scratchable surface is SUPPOSE to drive you insane enough to go out and buy a case!

Oh, also, that image you have attached to the article is not the new iPod Touch. It looks to be the 2nd or 3rd gen. You can tell because the new one has a smaller curve and a flatter backing that the previous generation. Also on the 4th gen, the lock and volume buttons can’t be seen when looking at the front of the device — now they’re hidden behind the curve of the back plate.

I have it , it’s amazing but the picture is wrong generation’s pic, 4th one has a smaller lock button and it’s slimmer.
