Former Vice President from the Bush Administration Dick Cheney has been hospitalized. It’s a well known fact that Cheney
has suffered from heart problems his entire life. The 69 year old has been hospitalized according to the New York Times because of discomfort. He is being held for tests, and there’s currently no indication that there’s any serious problem.
The politician has had five heart attacks in his life, the first took place when he was 37. This makes many worry about their own healthy heart, as in 2006 26% of all deaths were attributed to heart disease.
High stress lives, poor eating habits, gender and bad genetics can all be blamed for heart troubles. It’s not sure what causes Cheney’s issues, although stress is likely to play a role.
So what can you do to ensure that your heart remains healthy? Other than maintaining a close relationship with your doctor and having annual physicals, you can be sure to maintain a healthy lifestyle. This includes eating right, exercising, quitting smoking, and limiting your alcohol intake.
It has been made known that Cheney smoked heavily from ages 17 to 37, meaning that he quit smoking around the same time he had his first heart attack.
Dick Cheney’s most recent heart attack happened in February 2010. His most recent heart problem experienced now has not been characterized as a heart attack.
