[VIDEO] Unemployment Extension Tier 5 99ers Alert Job Leads In Arizona

Unemployment extension for 99ers and Tier 5 benefits are needed, but those unemployed in Arizona particularly around Phoenix may be able to find work.  A recent local news report indicates that companies are having trouble finding workers despite unemployment eclipsing double digits in the area.

The problem sometimes isn’t that people don’t want these jobs – they do.  Sometimes, businesses don’t publish their job openings where the unemployed are looking!

Still yet, if we can help an unemployment extension 99er reader find a job, then what we have done here is all worthwhile. If just one person finds the means to put food on their table then that would make our day.

So far, nothing has transpired with the unemployment extension. However, the recent Foreclosure delays could impede the economic recovery (see a video of Florida’s President of the Banking Association discuss how here.) We could have a long way to go before the additional 20 weeks proposed by Debbie Stabenow become available. If the GOP gains control of the senate, it could be safe to say that the unemployment extension won’t happen at all.

Please continue to share us your stories about the unemployment extension and how a tier 5 could help yourself or a 99er that you know.

That story is completely one sided. For every person that isn’t accepting work there are 3 that will but aren’t being called.I’m a laid off Architect, That has applied for everything from Architectural positions to sales positions, to regular labor jobs to places like Ikea, Home Depot, Best Buy and even Mcdonald’s I too go to every job in person. Best Buy is the ONLY place that has called me back for temporary work. I’m registered with three temporary agencies and call them every week only to be told that they have nothing. The fact is being overqualified for a position is just as bad if not worse than being under qualified. No one will hire you because they fear that you will leave their company as soon as the economy gets better. We all know that these over qualified people are the ones that are making the unemployment rates higher than what is normal. I seriously doubt a homeless kid ever had a job before or after the recession. Plus you can’t receive unemployment unless you have worked the previous year anyway. Why were they interviewing a homeless kid in the first place?

I completely understand that there are people out there that are taking advantage of the situation but to report a one sided story on those people is just as irresponsible as the people themselves.

If you look at the filibusters in the Senate, one thing becomes clear. If the Republicans gain seats in the Senate there will be no further extensions or Tier V.

The Republican extension proposals were frauds intended to deflect criticism and, if successful would have used up money intended for job creation.

As much as I hate to say it (I’m 3rd party) vote Democrat on Nov 2.

I’d like to hire the girl pictured. I think she has the hollywood look and should venture out to the Golden State. I’m sure there is a agency that could give you the opportunity to model for them. Good luck, tier 5 is not happening.

What a cheep shot for their hidden agenda.
This is just a poor attempt by the employers who want to hire illegals.
What they are really saying is “see Americans wont do these jobs so we need the illegals”.
You can’t pull the wool over my eyes!

It is total nonsense to say 99ers numbers are growing because they are too lazy to look or take lower end work. That because we got UI checks we don’t want to work. I know no one on UI that can cover their bills with it. It still means using savings. With the math showing for every 5 unemployed there are 1 job. That means no matter what most unemployed do to find work they won’t. The fact is since 2008 just not enough jobs created. We lost so many due to Wallstreet greet. Nothing 99ers do to find work will change the fact their numbers will grow. Its not being lazy or not looking that causes that. Its lack of jobs period.

  19. Jim Says:

    October 14th, 2010 at 11:16 am

And for those who think why do 99ers and all unemployed deserve more help? Simple since I was 16 and started working until now at 53 I paid for it. My tax dollars where taken from my paychecks. A lot more then they will ever pay me back in unemployment. It my money I am asking to get help from. Too many in Congress think tax payers money is their money.

  22. fedup Says:

    October 14th, 2010 at 2:33 pm

Just got off the phone from Harry Reid’s office. His assistant that answered the phone suggested finding out who the specific congressional people are who are opposing the Tier 5 and start hounding them directly. He assured me that Harry Reid is for a Tier 5 and he has been the one who has been behind the pushing of the extensions up to this point. That’s my job as of now, I will find out who is for it and who isn’t and I would like to hear their suggestions on what us 99er’s should do to live.

I wish jobs would just be actually created in mass amounts instead of hearing that every politician up for election has a plan to create jobs. If they could actually create jobs then maybe Big Ding-a-ling Daddy who wants to “spank people” could get off his lazy ass and go to work himself instead of playing the devil’s advocate all day on the computer.

  23. mark Says:

    October 14th, 2010 at 4:40 pm

Never been happier! Tier 5 on the way!

  24. Wanka Says:

Yeah, that big ding a ling daddy needs to be whipped and taken out to pasture where the cattle are. Tier 5 is on its way big ding a ling daddy. Who’s your daddy?

  25. mark Says:

Do you talk like that at your job interviews?

  26. Wanka Says:

    October 14th, 2010 at 10:51 pm

Nope, I walk in and say, I’m Big Daddy and deserve to take your job because I have a big pleasure boat and like to spank people. How you like them apples big ding-a-ling daddy. I’ll just bet you will get the job if you address the interviewer like that.

Oh yeah right as if some pretty young thing that looks like that is having a REAL TOUGH time?
There are plenty of good jobs for her unlike the crappy “bogus” jobs listed for the unemployed middle age gang!
    Please!!!!!!
Get the rumpled grayed and aging fast 50 somethings out there on our last legs with families that have exhausted the severance and COBRA and $401K`s to just try and survive THANKS to our companies tossing our “old asses” out the door!
There is NOTHING for us and NOBODY wants us as hundreds of resumes sent since 2009 will attest to in my case.
My resume reads one thing-one thing only- AGE!
Sorry to the dumpster gramps at 56 we got a 25 year old we can get to do that job.
Now all that EXPERIENCE only equates to 1 thing- DISADVANTAGE!
If not Tier 5 then its to the NYS welfare roll and train for me and my wife!
THATS what working 30 years into the system GOT ME!

  30. mark Says:

    October 15th, 2010 at 10:57 am

Don’t worry. The GOP will be 4 day old fish on Nov 3rd. Not to worry

  31. Carolina Says:

    October 15th, 2010 at 3:03 pm

How can they say that people are taking advantage of the situation if there is no money, there is no money. We are all in the same boat. When UI runs out, who is taking advantage of having nothing when you run out. Stands to fact that people would be out of their minds if they didn’t want work. It is what you are use too. If people are collecting and have families to support, that is a lame argument that they don’t want work. Who are these people who are taking advantage, there isn’t that much UI benefits to take advantage of. This is all dumb.

  32. Carolina Says:

    October 15th, 2010 at 3:06 pm

I read somewhere that the census takers are now ineligible for any further Tiers because they worked within a 2 year period for unemployment benefits. But they have no jobs now. Doesn’t make sense.

So….let’s be objective here, unlike this video article. You go and speak with a couple of people that say they are trying to hire people, including a temp agency, interesting. It’s good that they are trying to put some jobs out there. However, for there only to be a couple of employers as well as only a couple of unemployed people will not give you a clear over all picture at all. Any journalist worth their weight knows this. You are not being objecting by only taking a couple of random situations and say that they are what’s going on every where. I live in Indiana and I have been to Sears, Target, Walmart, gas stations, liquor stores, bars, every and anywhere to look for work and NO ONE is calling me back. So by your analogy I should’ve already had a job, if not two or three by now, right? Report facts on all sides, not just the ones that happen to paint a picture the way that you think it should be. Some “news” organization. Everyone of you should be overhauled and reworked and MADE to tell the TRUTH in every situation and report on what’s poignant to the people, not what you think. You’re a reporting agency, you should never have an opinion or for that matter express it. You need your license pulled.

The news reported last night that 38 states have requested money to place armed guards at Workforce / Career Link /One Stop sites for fear of a unemployed person taken action. This is very troubling since it is not the employees at DOL at fault, but the elected officials in Washington. Any action that is taken should be in the form of a 10 million person protest.

Well I am the “99er” underemployed, I worked part time and collected. I am now unable to make my bills, I earn a whopping $9.00 hr, doing physical work I have never done before and I am 57 yr old female who “HAS WORKED 39 years most of them 2 jobs at a time. After taxes by the way I clear $7.00 per hour. I am not eligible in this company for full time so I can only get part time, so why I am I not eligible for tier V, tell me again, how lazy I am supposed to be? I challenge anyone to try and live on what I am making, oh and I am doing this alone, no husband, I have been getting food stamps since UI has run out, and I forfeited my car. Great way to be surviving huh? Grateful to have a part time job, but extending my benefits will make it easier to assure I have a place to live for the winter months.
