The Blackberry 9800 launch event is today. There’s much buzz and anticipation surrounding the festivities unfolding in
NYC. The launch of the new 9800 Blackberry will be a big deal for the company who has suffered from increased competition from both Apple and Android based smartphones.
The Blackberry OS 6 is something that both investors and consumers are curious about. RIM has a big challenge ahead of them – keeping their dependable, reliable business data phones while still competing head on with the smartphones sold by Apple and various manufacturers using the Android OS.
The 9800 was rumored to be a slider, but then it was reported that the handset is a touchscreen. We will have to wait until later today to get our first glimpse at the product.
I’m excited to see what today’s AT&T/Blackberry event will bring. I bet there will be a lot of excitement over their new phone. I think they will bring in a lot of features that will rival their competitors. What do you think?
