[VIDEO] Unemployment Extension & Tier 5: Jobless Claims Drop

Unemployment Extension & Tier 5: Jobless Claims Drop.  The unemployment extension may or may not occur.  However, at the end of November, tiers 1-4 will disappear unless congress intervenes.  The level of support for the unemployment extension depends, in many respects, on who is elected to serve in Congress after the mid-term elections.

Jobless claims dropped to an unexpected three month low, as you can see from the video below. However, the calculation of the unemployment rate doesn’t consider those who have just simply given up looking for work.

The Tier 5 benefits extension is something that many will continue to rally for, despite any opposition it faces from the GOP. It will take years for the economy to recover from this economic decline, and in essence the 99ers will grow in number.

Right now Congress is not in session, but those who want an unemployment extension are rallying to elect leaders who will ensure that they are represented by those who support any benefits extension.

See below for a video on the recent jobless claims:

When it’s all said and done there are MORE new claims than JOBS being offered! Bet this has something to do with the part time temp sesonal holiday jobs. We all know what happened with the census jobs!!! Just another ploy to avoid helping the American worker and their families!
    Happy Holidays indeed!!!!!!

Over my career working for many business owners as Controller to CFO I learned this. Most CEo’s and owners never know they can make due with fewer employees. Until something bad happens and they have to cut expenses they rarely thought about it. Once they are forced to cut expenses to survive they learn to run lean and mean. So even when top line sales come back they don’t go back to the old ways. They hire but now know they make more profits and need fewer employees then before. We need to help small business startups. Before they learn that most hire like crazy. Existing business that had to cut back just won’t ever hire back the same number as before. They might but few will. Not when running the company with fewer employees showed them they can. It eventually burns employees out but they don’t care. Too bad so many learned they can now run the company with fewer employees. It’s making them now want more in their bank account then giving more people jobs. This is major reason why so few jobs coming back to lower UI.

Wait until the end of November when all benefits end – the rate will go down again as well – but as we all know they only count the ones receiving unemployment checks – last I heard we will have over 12 million unemployed through out the USA – whats up with that good old Government?

For those individuals that are still employed–they have no conception what the 99ers are going thru– and from their comments–they really don’t care arout “us”.

Maybe sometime soon you “employed” individuals will be unemployed also.

I WANT TO WORK but, being in my 60′s no employer will consider me for full time employment. I have fantastic credentials and I interview very well; yet, the 30 or 40 year olds always gets the job I am interviewing for.

All I can say to the ass hole comments posted on these Boards is, ” Walk in my shoes” and see how you feel.

All these politicians complaining in their campaigns about excess spending are oxymorons. They spend millions on campaign ads and complain about spending? Vote them all out, they don’t deserve to decide anything concerning our national deficit. Just imagine if all that campaign money spent on TV ads were used to take down the national deficit or help those who are unemployed.
