The 2010 Unemployment Extension After Elections?

The 2010 unemployment extension could happen after the elections? Millions are hoping so.  Here’s a recount of the elections, and what could happen to the unemployment extension?  With the elections complete, let’s take a look at unemployment extension updates.

The elections’ of November 2, 2010 is complete. Most of the ballots have been counted, except for Alaska, Washington State and Colorado; where races are too close to call or counting continue to take place though-out the week. Millions of unemployed Americans are wondering the next steps to President Obama’s policies for creating jobs and return positive job growth back our the nations’ economy.

It is estimated that up to 30 million Americans are either unemployed or underemployed. The nations’ jobless rate has stood at 9.6 percent or near the double digits, for the last two years. Developing a conclusion that the takeover by the Republican party of the United States House and the gain of six seats in the Democratic controlled Senate; was about the lack of employment opportunities available, would be the right progress to take from the results.

President Obama spoke to the nation around 1:00 PM this afternoon to detail lessons he erudite from the American voting public, in the losses state and federal government wide, of the Democratic Party. One theme he pressed during the Press Conference was that he took personal responsibly on the lack of job growth in the nation.

“I take the responsibility for failure to create job growth,” Obama stated.

He also called for the newly elected Republican majority in the House to present their ideas on how to decrease the unemployment rate.

“(President Obama is) Looking at all ideas on the table to create jobs,” the President cited. “If there good ideas on how to get people back to work, my hope is that they will bring those ideas to the table for consideration.”

In turn, he noted that if the largely Tea Party based Republican based takeover, continued the lack of cooperation to embrace job creation ideas, nothing will be effective done the next two years.

“Without any Republican support on anything; we are not going to be able to get anything done,” Obama recounted.

Ther are two unemployment extensions bills facing the lame-duck Congress upon their return. The Unemployment Compensation Act of 2010 HR-4213 was last signed by the President on July 22 and is set to expire on November 30.

In addition, S-3706-The Americans Want to Work Act is within Senate Finance Committee, after a block of an up or down vote by outgoing Senator George LeMieux (R-FL) citing deficit concerns. President Obama offered the strongest words in months about how twice that quick passage is needed and necessary to assist millions jobless Americans.

“It makes sense for us to extend unemployment insurance because, there are a lot of folks still out there hurting,” Obama communicated. Extending Unemployment insurance is the right thing to do for folks who are struggling in this economy. It is the right thing to do, as a whole.

For small businesses, which create over 50 percent of the employment opportunities in America, President Obama will ask the Republicans to work with him to invest in this highly important business area.

“The only way America succeeds is when businesses succeed. We need to make sure businesses are hiring, the President noted.

Obama announced during the press conference that he will ask the GOP to bring policies to the table, to added jobs in American’s small businesses.

“What will help you (Republicans) make more investments, to create jobs in the United States?” Obama openly questioned.

Hopefully, the unemployment extension and job creation takes place in the wake of the elections.  That’s questionable, but we can still keep our fingers crossed.  What do you think of the unemployment extension?

The only way we have a chance to get bill S-3706 out of the financial dept. of the Senate is to vote (maybe make some deals) on this immediately. This is for Tier V—the 99R’s. Most of us have had no money since March of this year. It is a perfect bill–do not wait until you have the “new” Senate and House going in January–we have to do it now, while we (Democrats) still have our own Senators and House people in office. This, too applies—–if we ever get a chace for unemployment extensions. These 2 Republicans (Mitch McConnell=biggest blowhard) and John “Bone-head”) are the two worst people you could ever have, to attempt to be “Christened” Republican leaders. They are a huge embarassment to our whole country.
