Debbie Stabenow Backs Standalone Unemployment Extension Bill
Michigan is one of the states hardest hit by the unemployment rate.  Given that the emergency unemployment compensation benefits expired on June 2, passage of an extension of the extension is something that many Michiganders desire.  Debbie Stabenow is listening to her constituents, and is supportive of a standalone unemployment extension bill. Previous efforts to extend unemployment were wrapped up with other provisions.  Senate Democrats and Republicans are not able to agree on how to fund the original bill, with democrats desiring deficit spending and republicans preferring to fund the bill using unused stimulus plan funds. The stalemate continues, and is going to ...

Dow Jones Industrial Average Drops After Economic Fears
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell an astounding 268 after fears that the global economic recovery may be slow coming.  The news comes mere days after the G20 concluded.  The premise behind the summit was to ensure that the global economic recovery was as quick and swift as possible. The Dow fell over 300 points, but shaved its losses down during the last 15 minutes of trading. Investors are increasingly fickle and economic data expected out later this week could bring the market down even further. The Jobs report that is due out will have a lot of effect on the stock ...

Senator Robert Byrd Dies at Age 92
Senator Robert Byrd was born in 1917 and has served in the US Senate for nearly 60 years.  The Democrat from West Virginia is somewhat of an icon, with roads, bridges, and other pieces of infrastructure named after him in his home state.  The 92 year old Senator was the longest serving member of that body of legislators. He also died at the age of 92. This past weekend, Byrd went to the hospital and was treated for what appeared to be severe dehydration and heat exhaustion after temperatures in DC ...

T-Mobile's first Android based superphone will be the Samsung Vibrant.  The cellular carrier turned to their official Twitter account in order to announce the future release of the phone which is from the Galaxy-S family.  The phone runs on Android 2.1 and represents Samsung's insistence on brining the line to each of the nation's four largest carriers. In the US, T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint represent the major cellular networks that most individuals choose.  There are some other smaller carriers as well, including Boost Mobile, Virgin Mobile, and Cellular South (among others.) iPhone 4 Problems Plague Release Date
The iPhone 4 is the hottest phone on the market, but its release was met with a semi-disaster.  The design of the phone placed the antenna in the metal bar that goes around the side of the handset.  When held a certain way, calls drop.  This is something that you would expect the company to realize during testing, but it appears as if it is something that slipped through the cracks. The iPhone 4 release date took place on Thursday.  Many who wanted the white iPhone were very upset when they went to the store only to find out that the ...
