Spurred by an unexpected bump in private-sector jobs creation, the three major U.S. indexes all posted substantial gains Wednesday.
Automatic Data Processing, which monitors payroll data, said more than 93,000 jobs were added by private firms in November. The analysis company also revised its October figures upward, by almost double its previous estimate, to 85,000.
