ADAN stands for All Day All Night. We strive to give you the most up to date information possible – all day and all night.
What is your vision for ADAN News?
Our vision is to create a site for citizen journalists from around the United States, each citizen journalist covering his or her own city.
How do I write for you?
We are currently a new site, and therefore don’t have any additional paid positions. However, if you wish to write for the love of sharing information please contact us. Loyal, consistent contributors will be given paid positions on a first-come-first served basis as our budget can afford it.
What are your reporting requirements?
In order to be approved, your report must be at least 225 words, 250 or more preferred. Your report must be timely, and unique. This means you can’t simply regurgitate another news story. Add a unique spin. Since we have a local model, please try to get a quote from someone in your area or tie the story back to the area that you are covering. Offer our readers something that they can’t find anywhere else.
What are your requirements to become a contributor?
To become a contributor, you must be a US citizen, resident, or foreign national with approval to work in the US. This is because of tax purposes in the event we offer you a paid position. If you do not fit into these categories, you can still submit work, but you won’t be offered a paid position once it becomes available.
Our contributors must have work that is unique, and is written in English. While grammatical errors are expected from time to time, pieces must be natural sounding. You don’t have to have any experience to write for our site, making this a great way to break into the world of freelance writing.
Students currently studying journalism are encouraged to submit to our site.
What is your editorial process?
Our writers send their stories to our editors. Our editors read them over, make changes as necessary, and place them online in our content management system. All posts are physically published by our editors. This is to ensure that only high quality material is entered on the site.
What is your article turnaround?
We make every effort to publish an article within 30 minutes of submission. If we have heavy submissions, this time frame could extend to an hour.
If I write for your site, can I use a pen name?
Yes. You can use a pen name, but please make it sound like a real name.
What type of stories are you looking for?
We are looking for all types of news! If it’s happening in your area, we want you to submit it to our site. If you have a unique spin on a national story, we want you to submit it to our site.
